Ahhhh! Strawberry season! We love them! We ask for more! We try new recipes every year! Well, try this recipe for strawberry slices, made with a dough, strawberries with jam, and a crunchy almond topping. A real treat that you can’t afford to miss!
Prep Time: 45 minutes
Baking Time: 50-60 minutes at 375°F (190°C)
Difficulty: easy
Yield: 12 slices (9 inches-24 cm diameter round pie mold)

Prepare the dough: In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Add butter and process until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water and process until dough begins to hold together (add up to 2 tbsp if necessary).
Spread the dough directly into the silicone mold. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Preparation of the fillings: in a bowl, mix the flour and the sugar. Add the butter and work the mixture with your fingers until it is lumpy. Add almonds and mix. Set aside.
In another bowl, combine strawberries, strawberry jam, sugar and cornstarch.
Sprinkle the dough with 2 tbsp. of ground almonds.
Spread strawberry filling on top.
Sprinkle with reserved crunchy topping.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 50 to 60 minutes or until crust is golden. Remove pan to a rack and let cool. Cut into slices.
Slices can be stored up to 2 days in an airtight container at room temperature.
