To start the new year off right and find out which one of you will be the king/queen of the day, make this brioche crown enriched with chocolate chips!

Baking Time: 30 minutes at 350°F (180°C)

Ingredients
For the dough
- 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour (500 g)
- 1 ½ teaspoon of salt
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 sachet of active-dry yeast
- 1/3 cup of softened butter, cut into pieces (80 g)
- 1/3 cup of chocolate chips (60 g)
- 1 1/4 cup of warm milk (3 dl)
And…
- 1 bean
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 tablespoons of pearl sugar
- slivered almonds
Instructions
In a bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add butter, chocolate chips and milk and knead into a smooth, soft dough. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour and a half at room temperature until the dough doubles in volume.
Take 8 portions of dough of about 3 oz (90 g) each, form balls and place the bean in one of them. Cover and let rise a second time for about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven at 350°F (180°C).
Brush with egg, sprinkle with slivered almonds and pearl sugar.
Bake for about 30 minutes.
Remove the wreath from the oven, let it cool, then slide it onto a rack and let it cool completely.
