How about delicious individual brioches, shaped like an atom? Decorated with granulated sugar, these buns are as much fun to make as they are to eat!
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Rest Time: 2h30
Bake Time: 15-20 minutes at 350°F (180°C)
Difficulty: easy
Yield: 8 brioches
Pour all the ingredients into the food processor bowl, taking care that salt and yeast do not come into direct contact. Knead for about 10 minutes until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Cover and leave to double in volume for 1h30.
Deflate the dough and divide it into 8 equal balls.
On a floured work surface, spread each ball finely in an oval shape using a rolling pin.
Make slanted incisions on each oval.
Roll each oval, starting from the widest part, which gives a long “sausage”.
Wrap the “sausage” like a snail, so as to form a kind of atom. Place the atoms on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
Preheat ovent to 350°F (180°C).
Using a brush, brush the buns with a beaten egg. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until nicely browned.
