“Far Breton” is a recipe that comes from the region of Brittany, France, of which there are several variants. The best known is the one with prunes, but here is a version with chocolate chips.

Baking Time: 35 to 45 minutes at 350°F (180°)

For: a mould of 11 inches (28 cm) of diameter
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar (120 g)
- 1 3/4 + 1/3 cup of milk at room temperature (4.7 dl)
- 1 tablespoon of heavy cream
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour (130 g)
- 2 tablespoons of butter (20 g)
- 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips (150 g)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar.
2. Pour in the tempered milk, previously mixed with the cream.
3. Then gradually add the flour, stirring to avoid lumps.
4. Pour into a mould. Place a few shavings of butter on the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.
5. Add the chocolate chips after 5 to 10 minutes of baking, then continue to bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25 to 35 minutes.
Far Breton is better eating cold. Enjoy!
