Garlic knots are a type of garlic bread that is usually found in pizzerias. They are particularly well known in New York. Usually these knots are baked in the pizza oven and are generously covered with a mixture of oil, parmesan and crushed garlic. You can also add parsley, oregano or pepper.

Baking Time: 15 minutes at 400° F (200° C)

For the dough
For the glaze
1. Put all the ingredients of the dough in the robot bowl and stir until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
2. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
3. Roll the dough on a lightly floured work surface.
4. Divide the dough in half lengthwise.
5. Cut strips about 4 by 0.4 inches (10 cm by 1.5 cm).
6. Lightly flour the strips and roll them into strands.
7. Make a knot with each strand.
8. Place the knots on a baking paper-lined plate. Cover and let stand 30 minutes.
9. Preheat the oven to 400° F (200° C).
10. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the knots are lightly browned.
11. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. In a saucepan, put the oil, garlic clove, butter and parsley and cook for about 5 minutes. Salt very lightly.
12. Put the knots on a plate and spread the glaze above.
13. Knots are better when served warm.
