Another holiday appetizer, just as easy and quick to make as the first one (Santa’s boots). All you need is a puff pastry, some ham and a little cheese!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C)
Difficulty: easy
Yield: 6 persons
Ingredients
- 1 rectangular puff pastry
- 3-5 ham slices
- grated Emmental cheese (optional)
- egg yolk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Unroll the puff pastry. Arrange the slices of ham on the strips of pastry. Cut into strips of about 2 cm (0.80 inch).
Sprinkle with grated Emmental cheese if desired.
Make a sort of accordion with the strips of dough.
Note: You need to make a tree shape, so start by making a small fold and then enlarge a little each time to look like a tree.
Prick a wooden skewer in each tree to hold the dough.
Place the trees on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the trees with egg yolk.
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes.
Once cooked, arrange the trees in glasses for presentation.
