Carnival time and its famous Mardi Gras are fast approaching. This year, I propose you donuts baked and not fried.
To fill them, it’s up to you: jam, compote, chocolate spread, etc.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Rest Time: 3 hours
Baking Time: 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C)
Difficulty: easy
Yield: 8 doughnuts
In the bowl of a food processor, mix all the ingredients for the dough, avoiding direct contact with the salt and yeast, until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Cover and let double in volume for 2 hours.
Deflate the dough, then separate it into 8 portions. Flatten each into a circle, using a rolling pin or your hand.
Place a generous spoonful of filling in the center.
Fold the edges towards the center, then press the dough together with your fingertips. Place doughnuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Brown the doughnuts with egg yolk, then bake for 18-20 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
Enjoy the doughnuts warm or cold!
Doughnuts can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container.
