Pasta served with basil cream sauce and pine nuts is an ideal vegetarian meal and doesn’t take a long time to be ready.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup of fresh basil, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon of dried herbs (basil, rosemary, sage, thyme or Herbes de Provence)
- 1 cup of whipping or heavy cream (2.5 dl)
- 1-2 teaspoon of lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb of pasta (454 g)
- a handful of pine nuts
Instructions
- Cook the pasta.
- In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan then add the onion. Cook until soft and translucent.
- Add the garlic, basil and dried herbs and cook for another 30 seconds. Add the lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- Pour in the cream and allow to come to a simmer. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce covers the back of a spoon easily.
- Serve over cooked pasta. Garnish with pine nuts, roasted or not.
