Ingredients
- 1.65 lbs (750 g) sweet cherries, pitted
- ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
- 7 tbsp / 1 stick minus 1 tbsp (100 g) salted butter, cold and cubed
- ¾ cup (100 g) flour (or cornflour/all-purpose flour)
- ¾ cup (80 g) whole or sliced almonds
- 1 ½ cups (40 g) puffed quinoa
Instructions
Prep the Oven & Fruit: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread the pitted cherries evenly across the bottom of a baking dish and set aside.
Mix Sugar & Butter: In a bowl (or kitchen appliance), briefly combine the brown sugar and cold cubed butter until roughly blended.
Add Dry Ingredients: Add the flour, almonds, and puffed quinoa. Mix gently (or pulse) just until a crumbly, coarse dough forms.
Assemble & Bake: Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the cherries.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F (180°C) until the topping is golden brown and the cherry juices are bubbling.
