It’s never too early to think about making cookies for the Holiday Season. Try this scrumptious recipe that combines almonds, cinnamon and chocolate.
Prep Time: 40 minutes
Baking Time: 4 minutes at 400°F (200°C)
Rest Time: 6 hours
Difficulty: easy
Yield: for approximately 25 cookies
For the cookie dough
For the glaze
1. Melt the chocolate.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the sugar, the almonds, the flour and the cinnamon.
3. Whisk the egg whites with the salt.
4. Add delicately the melted chocolate and the egg whites to the previous mixture.
5. Spread the work surface with sugar. Lower the dough into portions on it about 0.40 inch (1 cm).
6. Cut out stars with a cookie cutter, soaking it regularly in the sugar.
7. Place the stars on a baking sheet.
8. Allow to dry for 6 hours at room temperature.
9. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake for 4 minutes.
10. Prepare the glaze by mixing the icing sugar and the egg white.
11. Put the glaze in a pastry bag and draw lines on the stars, once cooled.
12. Allow to dry before tasting.
