Jams are best made in the summer, but this recipe is perfect for the holidays because it’s made with apples, orange and gingerbread spices!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: easy
Yield: approximately 3 jars
Ingredients
- 26.5 oz apples (750 g)
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 bag vanilla sugar
- 7 oz squeezed orange juice (200 g)
- zest of an orange
- 1 tbsp. gingerbread mix
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar (500 g)
Instructions
Peel the apples, remove the core, cut them into quarters and pour them into a large saucepan.
Add lemon juice, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla, gingerbread mix and sugar.
Cook on high heat for about 20 minutes, then reduce heat by half and continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
To know if the jam is ready, put a few drops on a plate, which has been previously placed in the freezer. If the jam sets, it is ready. If not, continue cooking a little longer and test again.
Pour the jam into hot jars, put the lid on and turn the jars upside down while the jam cools.
