Baked apples… here is a dessert that is perfect for winter, with its warmth and comforting spices!

Baking Time: 45-60 minutes at 350° F (180° C)

Ingredients
- 2 apples (for instance. Braeburn)
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar (40 g)
- 1/2 cup of almonds, coarsely chopped (50 g)
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of butter (30 g)
- 1 cup of orange juice (2 1/2 dl)
- zest of 1 lime
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350° F (180° C).
2. Cut a hat about 0.8 inches (2 cm) thick on the apples on the tail side.
3. Empty the heart with an apple corer.
4. In a bowl, combine the sugar, almonds, honey and cinnamon.
5. Use 1/2 of this mixture to fill the apple cavities.
6. Spread the rest in the dish with the orange juice.
7. Place a knob of butter in the cavities.
8. Put back the hats.
9. Bake for about 45-60 minutes and check the apples by inserting a knife tip into them. If they’re tender, it’s done!
10. During baking, do not hesitate to sprinkle the apples with the juice.
11. Spread lime zest just before serving.
The trick: serve apples with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, etc.
