The financier is a small rectangular cake made from almond powder and egg whites.
Financiers can be made all year round, but when complemented with cinnamon and orange, they become trendy during the holiday season, especially when decorated with some chocolate!

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup of butter (75 g)
- 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon of icing sugar (85 g)
- 1/2 cup of almond powder (50 g)
- 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- zest of 1 orange
- 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
- 2 egg whites
- a pinch of salt
- dark chocolate for decoration
Instructions
Heat the butter in a saucepan until it takes on a nice hazelnut color. Leave to cool.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Mix together the powdered sugar, almond powder, flour, orange zest, cinnamon, salt and egg whites. Then add the hazelnut butter and mix again.
Pour the preparation into financier molds or Christmas molds.
Bake for 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
If you want to decorate your financiers, melt some dark chocolate and make some personalized decorations!
