It’s strawberry and rhubarb season, and since their association is no longer in question, here’s a recipe for a very good and easy to make compote.
The sweetness of the strawberries softens the acidity of the rhubarb. A real delight!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: approx. 30-45 minutes
Rest Time: 60 minutes
Difficulty: easy
1. Wash the rhubarb. Cut it into pieces and put them in a saucepan.
2. Wash the strawberries, cut them into pieces and add them to the pan.
3. Add sugar and cinnamon.
4. Cook over medium heat until pieces have broken down.
5. Let cool and chill for at least 1 hour.
6. Enjoy the compote plain or with cake or ice cream, as you like!
