In this recipe, we take our inspiration from the famous Swedish meatballs to make this version with pork and beef. Once the meatballs are cooked, they are covered with a brown sauce and served with cranberry jam.

In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, brown breadcrumbs until dry, stirring constantly. Set aside in a large bowl.
In the same skillet, soften onion in 2 tbsp. of the oil. Season with salt and pepper. Pour into bowl with breadcrumbs and mix. Allow to cool.
Add ground meats, milk, egg and spices to breadcrumb mixture. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
Shape each meatball with about 1 tbsp. of the meat mixture. Set aside on a plate.
In the same pan, brown the meatballs in the remaining oil and butter.
Sprinkle in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring, until the mixture takes on a golden hue. Add broth and cream.
Bring to the boil, stirring with a whisk. Cover and simmer gently for 5 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked. Add broth as needed.
Serve with boiled potatoes, pasta or spätzlis.
Serve with cranberry jam.
